Governors
The governing board of Soho Parish school consists of 12 governors who have responsibility for setting the strategic framework of the school and ensuring that all statutory duties are met.
 

ROLE OF THE GOVERNORS

The governing body has the following  three core strategic functions:

- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction

- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff

- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

 

COMPOSITION & CURRENT MEMBERSHIP

As a Church of England voluntary-aided school, a majority (7) of the governors must be Foundation governors (ie appointed by various church-affiliated bodies).

COMMITTEE STRUCTURE

The full governing body delegates some of its functions and scrutiny to several sub-committees as follows. To see the full terms of reference, please click on the appropriate sub-committee name.

SAW (Standards, Achievement and Well-being) responsible for curriculum, inclusion, pupil progress, teaching and learning, behaviour, safeguarding, community relations and equality.  Chair: TBC following Dave Holmes' end of term.

Resources - responsible for premises, finance and staffing. Chair: Peter Rutter

Pay - responsible for setting staff pay policy and awards. Chair: Lyn Meadows
