Religious Education

As a Church of England school we instil Christian values in our children and foster spiritual and moral development within a caring Christian community.

Religious Education is taught as a discrete subject and we teach from the London Diocesan Board for Schools scheme of work.

We have developed inclusive lessons which include all major world religions and relate strongly to our multi-faith community.

We aim to provide children with an understanding of what it means to have a faith and to develop an opinion on beliefs and values.

In line with all other state schools, children take part in an act of Collective Worship every day.

One of our parish priests, either Revd Simon (St Anne's) or Revd Lindsay (St James') Puppet wizardry

delivers an assembly weekly based on a Bible story, tradition or festival.

We celebrate major Christian festivals such as Easter and Harvest as a whole school at St James' Church, Piccadilly, with parents welcome to attend all services.

Each class also attends a quiet reflection service at St Anne's once a term.
