Autumn Term
This term, Hedgehog class have been very busy settling into our new classroom with new friends. We have been working with Alice from the Chelsea Arts Club Trust to explore the past - particularly about how Soho and our school has changed over time and was different in the past. We went on a walk around Soho to spot interesting landmarks and sights. In English we have been focusing on writing narratives and in Maths we have been solidifying our number knowledge and addition and subtraction strategies.

Phonics & Reading
We use the Little Wandle Letters & Sounds Revised program to teach phonics. Here is a link to learn more about the program.
Little Wandle Phonics Parent Information
In June, children in Year 1 will take part in the nationally required Phonics Screening Check. It is a quick check of children's decoding skills. Each child will be asked to read 40 words - 20 are real words and 20 are 'alien words' (made up words). Please see the below link to learn more about this Screening Check.
