PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS & CARERS

Parents and carers are the child’s first and most important educators. We and our families develop good relationships, which enable us to work together in the best interests of each child. This partnership starts with a home visit in reception by the staff, so that the child meets them in the role of a ‘family friend’. We have found this to be very effective in reducing separation anxiety in this most important first year of school.

We hold coffee mornings and workshops for parents to support their child's learning - these are generally on Friday at 9am. A date IS sent out in the newsletter and via parentmail.

Regular parent teacher meetings are held every term and parents are invited to make an appointment to meet with their child’s teacher if they have any questions or concerns.

In addition, we have a number of parent volunteers and our parents support the school in many different ways raising funds.
